For the past four years, I enjoyed (and was challenged by) the life-changing role of caregiver for my maternal grandmother, who lived with my family.
In this position, I educated my grandmother and other caregivers on various technology- and media-related subjects; set up numerous tech-based interventions to ensure my grandmother's safety and wellbeing; provided technical support to my grandmother and other caregivers; designed and manufactured instructional materials (including signs and manuals) for use by my grandmother and other caregivers; wrote, designed, and produced periodic communication to keep family and friends updated on my grandmother's wellbeing; assisted with day-to-day routines as needed; and provided patience, encouragement, and support.
Sadly, my grandmother passed away unexpectedly in December, and I am now seeking a new role.
I am most engaged and fulfilled when I am able to take full ownership of a specific role within a dynamic, enthusiastic team.
I enjoy connecting with and learning from a variety of collaborators within and outside my own team, but I perform best when I am able to support and report to a single leader.
I would rather be a specialist than a manager.
I would prefer remote or hybrid roles.
A flexible schedule is my preference because it allows me to work as intensely as a project or idea demands, then to rest according to the needs of my body and mind.
I am open to traveling for work, but I am not willing to relocate at this time; I am currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
